A visit to the MIT Plasma Science and Fusion Center in April 2019

One of my previous interns works at MIT at the Plasma Science and Fusion Center on Albany Street in Cambridge, Massachusetts. He invited me to see their tokamak during a visit to Boston. It was powered down for decommissioning at the time as they were preparing to build a new super powerful Tokamak (SPARC) with their research partner Commonwealth Fusion Systems at a new site in Devens, Massachusetts.

Although I spent 11 years working in the grocery software space I had never been to a Wegmans store. They were never one of our clients at MyWebGrocer and they don't have any stores close to Vermont, so when I spotted a Wegmans store across the street from where we had gone to eat for Thanksgiving on a trip to Pennsylvania, I told Carolyn that we had to stop there and check it out before they closed for the holiday.

A visit to the Metropolitan Museum of Art (The Met) in NYC

While I did visit many other parts of the Metropolitan Museum of Art on this day in May 2025 I pretty much only took pictures of items in the Arms and Armor section.
Adam Savage (Of MythBusters fame) has a fantastic series of behind the scenes videos of various items in this section, see: Adam Savage’s Tested

Items shown below are ordered roughly in historical age.

Lobster rolls

My older son loves lobster as do I and we will often buy it in the summer when it goes on sale and make lobster rolls.
We also like to stop for lunch at Yankee Lobster whenever we are in Boston.
